The National Junior Classical League: The NJCL includes JCL chapters from all 50 states and countries around the globe. Each summer, the NJCL hosts a week-long Convention. For more information on the convention and on national contests, check out this website.
The Georgia Classical Association: The aim of the GCA is the promotion and appreciation of Latin, Greek and the Classical Humanities. This organization, though, geared towards professionals on the k-12 and post-secondary level, is also open to any individual with a desire to help promote and study the classics.
The University of Georgia Classics Department: The University of Georgia offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Classics. The fabulous faculty have helped teach workshops at both Fall Forum and State Convention. If you have (or haven't) ever considered pursuing a degree in Classics, explore this department's website.
American Classical League: The ACL is the parent organization of the JCL and SCL. All chapter sponsors are required to be members of this organization.
National Latin Exam: The National Latin Exam is an annual test which Latin students participate in globally. Students can earn Gold and Silver Medals as well as certificates of cum laude, magna cum laude, and summa cum laude.
Legio XI: The 11th Legion is an Atlanta-based Roman military reenactment group. Last year, members of the 11th Legion joined us at State Convention. For more information, visit their website. Also, two videos of Legio XI are below.
National Committee for Latin & Greek NCLG:The NCLG is full of information relating to the study the Latin and Greek languages. The website includes a "Why Study Latin?" section as well as the "The PRACTICAL Benefits of Studying Latin" by Richard A. LaFleur of University of Georgia. Featuring the list of "Famous Classics Majors" and "Top 10 Reasons to Study Classics", this website is very useful in introducing the new students just how important Latin is not only in school but also in life.
