The Georgia Junior Classical League now offers three scholarships. Two scholarships were created to assist students who would like to attend the NJCL Convention, the Lillie B. Hamilton and Ralph H. Gavett Scholarships. The third scholarship was institued to assist teachers in furthering their education or certification.
The Lillie B. Hamilton Scholarship was established to help any underclassman (anyone but a senior) in attending the National JCL Convention and pays for the convention packet. The criteria for this scholarship are service to the organization and financial need.
The Ralph H. Gavett Scholarship was established to give any qualified delegate a fully-funded trip to national convention. The criteria for this scholarship are service and dedication to JCL, spirited involvement in JCL and financial need.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the state chairs and awarded at the state convention. In addition to the form above, students must submit two recommendations: one teacher and one peer. All materials must be submitted to scholarships@gjcl.org.
The Richard A. LaFleur Scholarship was established to provide an opportunity for further educational opportunities for sponsors. It is limited to teachers of Latin, Greek or classical humanities. It may be used for a variety of educational purposes. The amount of this award is $500.
Please check back soon for the application for the LaFleur scholarship. It will be available shortly. Each chapter may nominate two candidates for the student scholarships. The submission deadline is April 2nd. Applications will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the state chairs and awarded at the state convention. In addition to the form above, educators must submit two peer recommendations. All materials must be submitted to scholarships@gjcl.org.
