The 58th Annual National Junior Classical League Convention will take place at
Eastern Kentucky University-Richmond, Kentucky.

July 25 - July 30, 2011




The bus will leave from the Macy's Parking lot at Cumberland Mall at 7:30am on July 24th (be there no later than 7:15am). We will travel to the Nashville, Tennessee and tour the Parthenon replica there (we should arrive there around 11:30). After the tours, we will head to Richmond, KY and stay at the Holiday Inn Express. On the 25th of July we will head over to the University early in the morning. 

At the end of convention, on July 30th, we will load the bus and make a straight shot for Atlanta and return to the same location.  We will leave the University at approximately 9am and return around 4pm (with a stop for lunch).
 
Please check the white booklet (attached below) for a list of things to bring.  In addition to that list, it is suggested that you bring some spending money for the convention and for snacks there and two meals on the way to and from. Also, please read Esther Kim's letter to all attending regarding the NJCL convention book drive (also attached below).
See you on the 24th!

Other stuff to bring: Alarm clock, personal hygiene items (toothbrush, washcloth, shampoo, etc.), umbrella or raincoat, swimsuit and towel, athletic clothes, sunscreen, coat hangers, change for vending machines,small fan, blanket, pillow. Adults may need a pocket-size calculator for tallying scores in contests.

The Farewell Dance, on Friday, July 29, 2011 will be semiformal. Ties and dress slacks for males, dresses, skirts or dress pants for females are strongly recommended. Jeans and shorts are not appropriate at the Farewell Dance. The theme for the Farewell Dance is JCL: Party in the SPQR.
