GJCL State Convention 2012 Information

Convention will be held April 20 - 22, 2012 at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center.

Slogan and Modern Myth Contests: Two entries maximum per level per school per competition. Due April 1st. Email slogans and modern myths to creativearts@gjcl.org
                                                             - Lower - 7th - 9th Grade
                                                             - Middle - 9th - 10th Grade
                                                             - Upper - 11th - 12th Grade

 

  • Early Registration: February 17 - March 16. Take advantage of the discounted cost of $105 per delegate. When registering you will need the following information: number of student delegates, number of chaperons (follow a 1:16 same sex ratio, if you have fewer than 16 no additional chaperons are needed), number of sponsors (ACL members with registered delegates), list of students who are not JCL members but who are attending convention (they will need to be added), the number of state officers (if applicable).
  • Late Registration: March 17 - April 1. The cost rises to $110 per delegate.
  • Late, Late Registration: In special circumstances you may register (or add delegates) after April 1 through April 15. However, there is a substantial cost increase to $120 per delegate. This does NOT include same gender substitutions, which are allowed right up until convention.

  • Students planning to run for office should fill out and submit the papers of candidacy by April 1, 2011

Slogan: Do you have a funny saying that your JCL uses?  Share!  Email your ENGLISH motto to creativearts@gjcl.org before April 1 to be considered in the Slogan contest. 

Modern Myth:  Do you love mythology?  Do you enjoy writing?  Combine the two and create your own myth.  See the rules in the FAX for specific details and options.  Once you have your story, email it to creativearts@gjcl.org by April 1 to be considered.  You never know, you could write the next story to be on the big screen!
